William Isaacson, DVM
Dr. Bill Isaacson was born and raised in Park Rapids. He graduated from Park Rapids high school, went on to study pre-vet at Bemidji State University and then attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1969.
Dr. Isaacson moved to Illinois to complete an internship and returned to Park Rapids to start Isaacson Veterinary Hospital in 1970.
Dr. Isaacson enjoys raising Hereford cattle and riding Appaloosa horses. His new pair of Appaloosas, Hank and Mac, are learning to drive! You may see them when you stop by the clinic! He has been an active member of the Hubbard County Posse since 1985. Dr. Isaacson is also the keeper of all the clinic pets. Check out their profiles under our staff greeters. Dr. Isaacson is cutting back in hopes of an extra late retirement and currently sees only some large animal patients.

Barbara Lester, DVM
Dr. Barbara Lester is our small animal veterinarian. She is a graduate of Nevis High School. After high school she attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. From Duluth she went on to attend the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2005. From 2005-2014 she worked in Jordan, MN at a mixed animal practice where she mostly saw small animal patients. Her family includes a mixed breed dog, Lucy, a basset hound Lola, and two cats, Smokey, Simon and Shadow. If she has any spare time, she enjoys dog training, and baking.
Aletta Anderson, DVM
Dr. Aletta Anderson will be our newest small animal veterinarian starting in June.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology while attending North Dakota State University. Following NDSU She attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduating this May of 2023. She is looking forward to making Park Rapids her home. During her spare time, she enjoys going hiking, running, reading, and water sports. Her family includes two dalmatians Tallulah and Ivy, which she enjoys working and training with for performance events. We added to our spotted animal collection by two! Meet Tallulah (black and white) and Ivy (liver and white). Tallulah was an undergraduate college graduation present to Dr. Anderson and went on to attend all four years of vet school with her. She was a perfect study buddy and practice patient. She is a gentle and sensitive girl that enjoys adventures and barn hunts. Ivy joined Dr. Anderson’s family in June of 2021 as a spunky little puppy. Ivy keeps things interesting with her class clown personality and her mischievous ways. She enjoys treats and puppy play dates.

Relief Veterinarians
We now have several relief veterinarians working at the clinic on a regular basis. This allows us to be able to book more appointments and surgeries. It helps keep appointment and surgery waits down to a minimum for our clients and patients. It also enables us to see more same day appointments.
David Arneson, DVM
Dr. David Arneson is one of our small animal relief veterinarians. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a DVM degree. He worked for 1-year at small animal internship for Colorado State University. He has worked at several small animal clinic in the twin cities over the years. He was one of the original founders of Affiliated Emergency Vet Services and worked there as an emergency veterinarian for many years. Dr. Arneson has owned, developed and sold two veterinarian hospitals over his career. He now does relief veterinary work. We are happy to have him!
